Letter from the Executive Director – May 2017

Howdy! Summer Camp 2017 is fast upon us. This year’s western theme: Wild Wild Fish Tales will feature a chuck wagon dinner and Sunday night Hay Ride followed by a Hoe Down. Pack your boots, jeans and cowboy hats and ride off into the sunset with Camp Fish Tales.
Camp Fish Tales is situated on over 67-acres in Pinconning, Michigan, in Northern Bay County. Our picturesque setting features meadows, forests and a sandy beach lakefront – plenty of opportunities for exploration and fun.
Emphasis is placed on the ability of each camper to participate in camping experiences according to his or her physical, cognitive and psychological abilities. A concerted effort is made to remove any possible barriers and to create a secure, positive and reinforcing environment.
All of our facilities are designed to meet the special physical, social, intellectual, emotional and motivational needs of our campers. We have a large, central dining hall and activity center where campers congregate for group dining, special events, and important social interaction. Surrounding this facility are two rustic cabins, which provide group living arrangements during residential sessions and an opportunity for campers to develop true friendships. Throughout the grounds of Camp Fish Tales are numerous activity are-as designed with our campers in mind. This includes a central outdoor gathering spot for traditional campfires, camp songs, and flag raising ceremonies. Camp also includes a vegetable garden that campers can tend, a rock climbing wall, archery range and Nerf gun range. We have our own beautiful lake for water activities including swimming and boating.
Camp sessions begin June 11th and continue through August. Sessions are filling up quickly. Wild, Wild Fish Tales is waiting for you.
