Fundraising Event to Support Summer Programs

Camp Fish Tales, a barrier free camp that provides unique and specialized camping experiences for individuals with special needs, will host their first annual “Fish Races” ‪on Friday, March 10 at 6:00 PM at its location at 2177 E. Erikson Rd, Pinconning, MI. 48650.

Area businesses and organizations have the opportunity to sponsor specially designed giant wooden fish that will represent them at the event. Sponsors get to name their fish, decorate it and get it “pond” ready for racing. A special award will be given to the most creatively dressed fish.

This highly entertaining event is similar to horse racing. Dice are thrown and the “fish” advance around the “pond” course. Multiple races will be take place with attendees able to make Vegas style wagers on their favorite fishes. The occasion will feature a delicious themed buffet and door prizes. Tickets to attend this BYOB event are $20.

Karl Ieuter“At Camp Fish Tales we are trying to put some ‘fun’ into fundraising,” says Karl Ieuter, chairman of the camp’s board of directors. “Sponsoring and personalizing a racing fish is a fun team building activity that helps us to provide excellent summer programming for our special campers. Sponsorships start at only $125 a fish, with Silver and Gold sponsor levels available.”

“The camp relies on the generosity of our community,” continued Ieuter. “We really appreciate Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Michigan for donating the materials and constructing our racing fish. We still have fish available to sponsor, so come out and join us for a fun night of fish racing for a worthy cause.”

For details on how to sponsor a fish and get tickets for the event, please visit the Camp Fish Tales website or call 989-879-5199.
