CAMP FISH TALES Covid-19 Warning
Due to Covid-19, we have adapted our program to enhance the health and safety of our staff and campers. Staff, campers, and their families must follow all of the provided instructions while at Camp Fish Tales.

The risk of being exposed to Covid-19 is inherent at camp as it is in any other public or private space where people gather. Covid-19 is a very contagious disease that can lead to severe medical complications and death. Persons with underlying health conditions are urged to consult their physician before attending Camp Fish Tales. All campers must have a physical on file. By having your camper attend Camp Fish Tales, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to Covid-19.

Camp Fish Tales is licensed by the State of Michigan. With the COVID-19 situation, we are following enhanced guidelines this summer. Please review this information and be familiar with it before your camper comes to CFT.

In order for us to provide a wonderful and safe camp experience for your camper, please inform us of any health concerns/conditions which may make your camper at higher risk for complications, if exposed to COVID-19. This can be done by informing us of your camper’s health history information (CampDocs) or by sending us an e-mail directly to director@campfishtales.org.

Camper Specific Guidelines for Attending Camp

• If a camper has a fever, that camper must be fever-free for at least 72 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine before returning to camp (even if other COVID-19 symptoms are not present).
• If a camper or camp staff member becomes symptomatic while at camp, they will be sent home immediately. In the case of a camper, he/she will be isolated in a safe location until they are picked up.
• If any camper or camp staff member tests positive for COVID-19, that camp may be closed for a period of time. That determination will be made based on guidance from our local health department.

Camper Drop-off and Pick-up
To reduce contact between families, campers and staff, campers are going to be scheduled a specific time slot for drop off. Only one parent or guardian is allowed to check the camper in. All others must stay in their vehicle. Parents and campers are required to wear a face mask during check in/check out.

Daily Screening
All campers are required to be evaluated for any Covid-19 related symptoms at drop-off each day.

Temperature check – Campers with temperatures reading 100.4F or greater, will not be allowed to sign into camp. Campers must be fever free for no less than 72 hours without the use of fever reducers to return to camp.

Symptoms Check – Camp families will be asked two questions at drop-off.

1. Have you, your camper or anyone in your household been in contact with anyone who has COVID-19?
2. Has your camper felt unwell within the last three days? Fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion runny nose, nausea/vomiting and/or diarrhea?

We will also monitor and address any self-reporting of symptoms from campers/staff throughout their day at camp.

Meals
Meals will take place outside weather permitting. Meals will be bagged or pre-plated and served to the campers. No s/p, etc.on tables. All items disposable.

Facial coverings
Staff – Staff will be required to wear a facial covering when inside, or when physical distancing isn’t possible outside.
Campers – Campers will be required to wear facial coverings while inside or when physical distancing isn’t possible outside. 
Parents/Guardians – For the consideration and protection of our staff, any person interacting with our staff during drop-off and/or pick-up must also wear a facial covering.

Increased Sanitation
Equipment/Space Sanitation – We have implemented increased sanitation of supplies, equipment, playground etc.
Handwashing/disinfecting – Campers and staff will wash/sanitize their hands several times throughout the day, before any meal period, after sharing high touch or shared equipment and after sneezing/coughing. Doors will be propped open when able to decrease touch.

Staff training
Each season our staff engage in 40+ hours of pre-camp training. Staff training will include information on our screening procedures, sanitation expectations, and cohort distancing among a variety of other Covid-19 mitigation techniques.

We understand that these times are challenging and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we conduct summer camp as responsibly as we can. We take our responsibility to care for your camper during these extreme conditions very seriously. Exceptions to our procedures will not be allowed for staff, campers, or camp families. We hope to provide your camper with a great Camp Experience this season. We look forward to serving your family!
